What's new on the Venetian Islands?

Here are 3 things new to watch for on the Venetian Islands.

Venetian Causeway Bridge Version 2.0 Is In The Pipeline!
Where: North, Atlantic Ave, Miami, FL 33132
When: 2026
In 1927, Miami welcomed a significant structure that paved the way for Miami and Miami Beach to be linked — the Venetian Causeway and all of its 12 bridges.
Also known as a historic landmark for the cities of Miami and Miami Beach, the Venetian Causeway has weathered many hurricanes during its long history, causing the structures to be moderately to severely deteriorated — not to mention its design life span of 50 years!
Miami-Dade County's and the Florida Department of Transportation's solution?
A major overhaul for the Venetian Causeway's 11 bridges, including the easternmost moveable bridge along the Causeway!
Although the actual construction won't be for at least two years from now, the project team has finished the 60% design milestone with an expected completion by the end of 2024.
Once the plan is submitted, the permitting phase is estimated to be completed by the end of 2025, and construction will tentatively start in early 2026!
The Venetian Causeway's new design life expectancy is approximately 75 years.
Will we see these new structures rise in 2026 as expected?
We can only hope!

Is There A New Nine-Unit Rental Rising On The Venetian Islands?

Will we see a new nine-unit rental building on the Venetian Islands?
From what we heard from the grapevine, Strang Design, a Miami-based architecture firm, and Plasencia & Co. Construction are cooking up a new residential project on the islands, and they're being "hush-hush" about it, save for a few posts on their official Instagram accounts!
All we know is that the project is suspected to be a nine-unit rental building, and based on the photos, this new development will have a LOT of amenities!
Expect more updates as we get them!

Another Billionaire Set To Build A New Mansion On The Venetian Islands
Where: 441 E Rivo Alto Dr., Miami Beach, FL 33139

In 2021, another famous billionaire bought an $18 million compound on the exclusive community of the Venetian Islands – and it's a mansion once featured on MTV's "The Real World!"
The man of the hour?
Tech billionaire Peter Thiel of Paypal!
Sold by former president and CEO of Ford Motor Company Jacques Nasser, the said compound comprises two homes spanning a total of 10,041 square feet with two outdoor swimming pools, a private boat dock, a four-car parking garage, and a massive outdoor living area.
Just this year, Thiel's won approval for a new house design for the property, which means we may be seeing a brand-new waterfront mansion on 441 East Rivo Alto Drive.
However, the design plan did not note the other property address, 445 East Rivo Alto Drive, so we have yet to find out what he plans to do with the adjacent lot.
